SHORE EXCURSION I.: SANTORINI CLASSICS

Route: Cruise Ship -> Athinios Port -> Akrotiri -> Winery -> Fira -> Cruise Ship
Duration: Minumum 4.00 hrs
Description: The guests are transferred by caique boat from the cruise ship to Athinios port, where they get on the tour bus. They enjoy a unique drive from the port up the caldera cliffs to the top where the view of caldera, volcano and sea is breathtaking. When they reach the top they will head South through the famous vineyard towards Akrotiri, the most important excavated site in Europe. This is a Minoan type town that has been excavated out of pumice. It was buried under lava after the volcano eruption in about 1500 B.C that destroyed the island and the Minoan civilisation in Crete. This ancient town with the 3 – storey houses and the perfect sewage system is well preserved and worth visiting. After this absolutely interesting trip to past ,it is time to visit Canava (winery). Santo Wines Canava is the biggest winery on Santorini island where the guests can enjoy the slides projection while listening to Grek Music, then they taste 3 of the most famous local wines. After they visit Fira, the capital town of the island built on the rim of caldera wall. The guests can walk around, have a coffee org o shopping to the many gold shops or other various shops of Fira. For the return , the guests go down to the port of Fira by cable car

SHORE EXCURSION II: SANTORINI MUSEUM & WINE TASTING

Route: Cruise Ship -> Athinios Port -> Winery -> Museum -> Fira -> Cruise Ship
Duration: Minimum 4.00 hrs
Description: The guests are transferred by caique boat from the cruise ship to Athinios port, where they get on the tour bus.The first destination is a canava (winery) Santo Wines which is the biggest winery in Santorini island and is located on the caldera cliffs with panoramic view over volcano and the whole island. The guest can the slides projection while listening to Grek Music, then they taste 3 of the most famous local wines. After we will visit Fira, the picturesque capital town of the island built on the caldera rim where the museum is located. They will be guided in the new museum, which is one of the most important museums in Greece with beautiful collection of Frescos and other items excavated in the prehistoric site of Akrotiri.After museum visiting they will have a time to walk through ‘Fira’, do some shopping and return to the port of Fira with the cable car.

The Akrotiri excavation is closed on Mondays.
